Website Platform Detector

Paste any URL and find out what CMS or builder it runs on, and how easily it can move to WordPress.

We fetch the page once and read its fingerprints. Nothing is stored.

What this tool checks

Enter any public website address and we fetch the page once and read its fingerprints, the tell-tale scripts, asset URLs, headers and generator tags that reveal the platform underneath. It recognises WordPress, Wix, Tilda, Webflow, Squarespace, Shopify, Weebly, GoDaddy’s builder, Joomla, Drupal, Ghost and more.

Why knowing the platform matters

The platform decides everything about a move. A Wix or Squarespace site has no usable export and must be rebuilt from its live pages; a WordPress or Joomla site can be migrated at the database level; a Shopify store needs a commerce-aware plan. Identifying the stack is the first question we ask on every project, and now you can answer it yourself before you even get in touch.

What it can and cannot tell you

Detection reads what the browser receives, so heavily cached, headless or custom-coded sites may come back as “unrecognised”, that is normal, and does not mean the site cannot be cloned. When you know the platform, jump straight to the matching guide in our migration hub, or estimate the work with the cost calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How does the platform detector work?

It fetches the page once and inspects fingerprints, script and asset URLs, HTTP headers and the generator meta tag, that are unique to each platform, then matches them against known signatures for WordPress, Wix, Tilda, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace and others.

Why does it say "unrecognised" for some sites?

Custom-coded, headless or heavily cached sites may not expose a known fingerprint. That is expected and does not mean the site is hard to clone, it just was not built on a mainstream platform.

Is it accurate?

For mainstream builders and CMSs it is highly reliable. Some sites hide behind CDNs or reverse proxies, which can mask signals; when in doubt, send us the URL and we will confirm manually.

Do you store the URLs I check?

No. The lookup runs on request and nothing you enter is saved.
