How theme detection works
Every WordPress site loads its stylesheet from a predictable place: /wp-content/themes/theme-name/style.css, and that file starts with a comment block declaring the theme’s name, author and version. This detector fetches the page once, finds those fingerprints and reads the declaration, the same thing a developer would do in DevTools, automated.
Plugins leave similar traces: any plugin that loads front-end CSS or JS reveals its slug under /wp-content/plugins/. We list what is visible. Server-side-only plugins (SEO, caching, security) often leave no public trace, so treat the list as a floor, not a ceiling.
When the theme is “hidden”
Some sites rename theme folders or strip the version header to look custom. The detector will tell you the theme exists but hides its name. In practice we can almost always identify it manually from CSS class patterns and template quirks, and if it is genuinely custom, we can rebuild the same look as an original theme for your site.

Frequently asked questions
Why does it say the site is not WordPress?
The page shows none of the standard WordPress fingerprints (wp-content, wp-includes, wp-json). Some heavily cached or headless setups hide them; our platform detector may still identify what the site runs.
Can it detect the exact child theme?
Yes, if a child theme is active the detector shows it and names the parent theme it extends.
Why are only some plugins listed?
Only plugins that load assets into the public page are visible from outside. Admin-side plugins leave no trace, so the real list is usually longer.
Can you build this same theme for my site?
